What song do you sing? A good question and it has an even greater answer. We all, each one of us, sing a special song that belongs to us. No one else can sing it and you sing it better than anyone can. God in his infinite wisdom has given that song to each person. Each day we are asked to sing that song to God. You are invited to bring your talents to our choirs. You do not have to have a great voice or a special talent for music. We ask but one thing that you bring to the fellowship your desire to sing praise to God.

Choirs and Ensembles

Cherub Choir

Age 4 through 2-- It is open to all children of the church and their friends who are interested in singing and making music that will be included in the worship services the third Sunday of each month. This group meets on Sundays from 3:30 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. Parents are encouraged to bring their children and stay for the rehearsal.

Celebration Singers

Grade 3 through grade 5 inclusive--  This group will prepare music for worship services the first Sunday of each month, at Christmas, and other special seasons throughout the year. This group practices on Sunday from 4:00 p.m. until 4:30 p.m.

Celebration Ringers

Grade 3 through grade 6 inclusive-- This group will place emphasis on learning to ring the handbells. Beginning with the chimes and progressing on to the bells when they have reached the level of playing necessary to handle the heavier bells. In addition we will prepare music for worship services and special services.  This group practices on Sunday from 4:30 p.m. until 5:00 p.m.

Faith Choristers

Adults (from 7th grade on)-- and open to any who wish to sing at the 8:15 a.m. service. The choir sings traditional music and some more contemporary anthems for the service and provides leadership for the congregation as well. Rehearsals for this choir are held on Wednesday evenings at 6:45 p.m. in the undercroft and on Sunday mornings immediately following the early service in the choir room. Other activities for fellowship and fun are planned during the year.

Grace Chorale

Adults (from 7th grade on)-- and open to any who wish to sing at the 11:00 a.m. service. The choir sings traditional music and some more contemporary anthems for the service and provides leadership for the congregation as well. Rehearsals for this choir are held on Wednesday evenings at 6:45 p.m. in the undercroft and on Sunday mornings at 10:00 a.m. in the choir room. Other activities for fellowship and fun are planned during the year. 

 
Grace Ringers

Adults and High School Youth--Rehearse in the undercroft on Wednesdays at 8:00 p.m. each weeek, ringing monthly for both 8:15 and 11:00 a.m. services as well as for certain festivals.

The accompaniment of the hymns for Grace Place is provided by guitarists and pianists  We are always looking for musicians for this service.  Rehearsal is at 5:15 p.m. each Saturday evening and the service begins at 6:00 p.m. Come and be a part of this special worship.

Special Musicians

Periodically we ask other musicians to join us on Sunday or Saturday worship for special music. Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church is blessed to have many fine musicians that are members as well as many great volunteers from the community who provide exciting music to the congregation and for the Lord. The director will contact those who have indicated an interest in playing for services and assist them in their preparation for those services. S.I.N.G.G.G., Sing God's Glory, is a Winchester area sacred summer music camp.  This ecumenical camp is designed to provide children with a summer singing experience, and to introduce them to new forms of musical and artistic expression, all to the Glory of God.
 The camp is open to all children who have completed grades 1-7.  Held each year in late July/early August, children participate in devotions, choirs, music/arts and crafts electives, and refreshments are provided.  A concert and open house for viewing hand-made projects and art culminate the week-long camp.
 The first camp was held in August 2005, with 77 children participating and over 40 volunteers.  For more information, call the church office.
