Parish Nurse Ministry

 The Parish Health Ministry Committee met under the direction of Sheila Weissenberger on April 17, 2007 to seek a renewed sense of mission.  There were many new ideas of how the committee could improve the mental, physical and spiritual health of the congregation.  Here are just a few:

• Continue the Body Mind and Spirit Health Fair--more information about the 2007 event, sponsored at Grace this year will be posted on this page
• Support the visit by Dr. Jane Marie Thibault workshop "Good News in Gospels for Senior Adults" in Winchester on November 10, 2007 by underwriting the costs and purchasing 10 copies of her book "10 Gospel Promises for Later Life" for use in the congregation
• Investigate the development of a Prayer Shawl ministry.  If you knit or crochet and would like to make prayer shawls for members with health problems, members in special care or even our newborn members.  Directions for the shawls as well as information about starting this ministry can be found at the following web site http://www.shawlministry.com
• Plan a retreat for members of Grace who are Health Care Professionals.  This would allow us to identify our resources and share our strengths to further the health of the congregation.  More will be coming on this after the June 19 committee meeting.  If you are interested let Mary Sonafelt, Erin Reeve, or Lisa Zerrull, our Parish Health Nurses or one of the Pastors know.
